Design experience

ASC's electrical engineers design the control system hardware to meet the needs of the project and the customer. The electrical engineering department has over 50 years of collective system design experience.

Electrical capabilities

ASC has over 30 electricians tasked to build and install control and power systems on our equipment and on a retrofit basis. We manufacture all of our control and power systems in our Valencia facility and ship and install throughout the world.

Hardware of choice

For most projects, ASC selects Allen Bradley for all control and power components. We are actually the largest single user of Allen Bradley products in California. If a customer prefers a different type of hardware, then we will be happy to design our system using hardware from Seimens, Mitsubishi, SquareD, GE, or other brands.

The majority of our systems utilize Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLCs. This mid-range PLC series provides high reliability, accuracy, and power in an affordable package. For larger projects that utilize hundreds of analog I/O, ASC prefers to use Allen Bradley Controllogix PLCs. This PLC is more expensive than the CompactLogix unit, but it is capable of higher I/O counts and can be purchased with redundant processors.

UL and other codes

ASC's control systems are designed and built to exacting standards. We are not only ISO 9000 certified, but we are also a UL508 panel building shop. We perform all panel work in our Valencia facility. For our European customers, we design and build to CE standards.

PC hardware

ASC utilizes Dell as our preferred PC supplier. Each PC is fully tested by an ASC controls engineer. Our standard printer is a color Laser-Jet from Hewlett Packard
